The Town of New Glasgow Heritage Committee is very interested in receiving photos of historical photos or postcards of New Glasgow from the 1800s or early to mid 1900s for presentation in an upcoming heritage walking tour brochure as well as for display on the Town’s web site and Facebook page. Of special interest are photos of the water troughs such as the one built in 1913, which is still located on East River Road in the green space near the Bergengren Credit Union as well as the old tram cars. Originals would be copied and returned with permission granted from the owner. Since its settlement in 1784 and incorporation in 1875, New Glasgow has an interesting heritage and we look forward to receiving more photographs to help us showcase the town’s past and to celebrate the community’s heritage.
